Introducing
iLASIK™ Dr. Goldberg is one of the first refractive surgeons in New Jersey to introduce iLASIK™ technology. This technology is recommended by the US Military and is the gold standard for LASIK surgery in the world. Dr. Goldberg was a pioneer of using multiple pieces of technology for refractive surgery which eventually became what is known today as iLASIK™ from Advanced Medical Optics (AMO).
iLASIK™ combines three pieces of technology to achieve outstanding results:

IntraLase®’s new awareness campaign – We are Step One – is a great explanation in helping potential LASIK patients understand the importance of no–blade LASIK. Dr. Goldberg uses this patented laser technology here in Monmouth County to create the all–important corneal flap, giving patients a safer, more accurate surgical visit than other surgeons who use microkeratomes.
Dr. Goldberg’s ViSX Star S4™ laser has patented 3–D tracking technology that responds to the natural movements of your eye during surgery, for a more accurate treatment. VISX® is the choice of most experienced refractive surgeons, in part because of its ability to change the diameter of its laser beam, protecting more of your cornea than other lasers.
Customized excimer laser treatments are a major breakthrough for improving the accuracy of Step Two – reshaping the cornea with the excimer laser. We’re seeing fantastic results with this special technology that uses a detailed wavefront map of your cornea to allow Dr. Goldberg to address higher–order aberrations – the kind of irregularlites that glasses and contacts can’t correct. CustomVue™ treatment means better visual results and fewer nighttime side–effects.
Did you know that 60 percent of your visual world is within reach of your hand? But all of us eventually lose our ability to shift between near and far vision, and many of us are burdened by reading glasses. Now Dr. Goldberg offers the extraordinary ReSTOR® lenses - in fact, he’s the first in New Jersey to perform this surgery - which allows for distance and near vision through remarkable lens replacements. If you’re not a candidate for LASIK, ReSTOR® may be for you.
Like ReSTOR, the Rezoom IOL lens (made by AMO) is a fixed implant that replaces your lens. Both were developed originally for cataract patients, but are now approvied for wider use. For the end user, the impact of ReSTOR and Rezoom is similar. But how they achieve their results is different. Rezoom focuses light through three different zones and can dramatically improve near, arm’s length, and distance vision. ReSTOR has an “aphodized” surface that provides a gradual blending of focusing power throughout the lens surface. Ask Dr. Goldberg which of these powerful lenses if right for you.
George and I have worn contacts and glasses for the last 13 plus years. We had always heard about LASIK surgery for corrective vision. Even though we were both tired of the daily routine of wearing contacts we were still hesitant about LASIK surgery.
