What's New:
Dr Daniel Goldberg and the Atlantic Laser Vision Center are pleased to announce the addition of the Zeiss-Meditec Visante Omni technology to our Laser Vision center in Little Silver NJ. The Omni is the most advanced technology for LASIK and corneal analysis and provides the most precise and unique assessment for screening abnormal corneas.
The Visante® Omni is the first system to combine OCT and Placido disk technologies, which creates a new dimension in corneal and anterior segment evaluation. The new technology will result in better screening for abnormal corneas as well as enable him to provide more accurate counseling regarding candidacy for laser vision correction.
Visante OCT delivers valuable pre- and post-surgical information for use in excimer laser surgery and corneal transplants as well as pre-and post-glaucoma surgical care and phakic IOL implantations. The OCT will image intraocular lens implants and aid in diagnosis of proper intraocular lens size and position.

The Atlantic Laser Vision Center in Little Silver, NJ was recently recognized as a Center of Excellence by Crystalens®. Crystalens is the leading technology for treating cataracts and presbyopia.
Crystalens is an accommodating intraocular lens that, unlike a standard IOL, can treat both a person’s cataracts and presbyopia, providing a range of vision from distance to near without glasses. The unique Crystalens can reduce or eliminate glasses for most activities, including: reading a book, working on the computer, and driving a car.
Dr Daniel Goldberg is the Director of Laser Surgery at the Atlantic Laser Vision Center and is a pioneer in the field of laser vision correction. He has skilled expertise in advanced Cataract and Corneal surgery and can offer alternative solutions for vision correction, like Crystalens, when a patient is not a candidate for LASIK.
As a member of the elite team of doctors who performed clinical trials of LASIK in its early stages, Dr Goldberg’s initial research and findings led to the FDA approval of LASIK. Dr Goldberg has 25 years of experience in refractive surgery and has performed over 10,000 LASIK surgery procedures. He recently became the first New Jersey eye surgeon to use the implantable contact lens (ICL) – a new technology to correct nearsightedness in individuals with extremely high prescriptions.

Established in 1998, the Atlantic Laser Vision Center was the first facility of its kind in central and southern New Jersey. Daniel B Goldberg MD, FACS is the Director of Refractive Surgery at the Atlantic Laser Vision Center, which is a part of the comprehensive eye care practice at Atlantic Eye Physicians. Dr. Daniel Goldberg pioneered laser vision correction in New Jersey and has 30 years of experience in refractive surgery. Dr. Goldberg has personally performed over 10,000 LASIK eye surgery procedures. More information on Dr Goldberg and the Atlantic Laser Vision Center can be found online at www.lasiksurgery-nj.com.
Dr Goldberg was the first to bring many technological advances in LASIK to benefit patients in New Jersey. In 1990 he travelled to London and Stockholm to prepare for the FDA approvals for Excimer laser treatment of nearsightedness. Initially, treatment for nearsighted eyes was performed on the surface of the cornea in a procedure called PRK (photo-refractive keratectomy). In the mid 90′s, a new procedure-LASIK was developed. Dr Goldberg was asked to participate in the CRS Study of LASIK which led to FDA approval.
Today, technology is steadily evolving and there are approximately 1.4 million LASIK procedures performed each year in the US. The Atlantic Laser Vision Center is now equipped with the leading technologies used in laser vision correction. Testing is performed with WaveScan and Orbscan to qualify patients as good candidates for LASIK, and the treatments are performed with the Intralase Femtosecond laser to perform a no-blade, all-laser treatment, and the Excimer laser treatment is then performed with computerized custom treatments on the VISX S4 Excimer laser with iris registration, tracking, and Fouriere-domain Wavescan driven custom treatments. Dr Goldberg is excited about the future of laser vision correction at the Atlantic Laser Vision Center, and is proud to have brought together the team and the technology to be the leading LASIK center in our region. Goldberg says, “We are delighted to reach the milestone of 10000 procedures and look forward to providing the best laser vision correction in our region.”
