How Your Eyes Work

The focusing mechanism of your eyes is similar to a camera with two lenses. In the human eye the front lens is called the cornea and the second lens inside the eye is called the crystalline lens. Refractive surgery can be performed on the cornea – as in LASIK, or on the crystalline lens as in Crystalens.

Refractive Surgery: Procedures from Atlantic Laser Vision Center

A comprehensive refractive surgeon with over 30 years of experience in cornea and intraocular lens surgery, Dr. Goldberg can improve your vision through dozens of procedures. Dr. Goldberg personally examines every patient and will help you determine the best path to better vision.

Dr. Goldberg has personally performed over 10,000 LASIK and iLASIK procedures and is one of the first in New Jersey to implement the latest technology called iLasik.

The entire range of refractive procedures includes corneal refractive procedures, where Dr. Goldberg reshapes your cornea or its surface (LASIK, IntraLASIK, LASEK, EpiLASIK, INTACSĀ® ), and lens-based refractive procedures, where Dr. Goldberg replaces imperfect lenses (cataract and clear lens extraction) with intraocular lenses, and phakic IOL (VerisyseTM and Visian ICL for myopia).
